What fabrics are suitable for sportswear?
Polyester fiber (dacron): The most commonly used fabric for sportswear, it wicks moisture away quickly, efficiently drawing sweat away from the skin. It’s also highly durable and offers good elasticity, making it ideal for most athletic activities.
Nylon (polyamide): High strength, excellent tensile resistance, and superior wrinkle and abrasion resistance compared to polyester fibers—making it ideal for high-intensity activities like running and fitness, where it can easily handle significant ranges of motion.
Spandex (Lycra): Exceptionally elastic, often blended with other fabrics—such as polyester—to enhance the stretch and recovery properties of garments, ensuring a snug fit and maximum freedom of movement during activities like yoga, dance, and other sports that require extensive stretching.
Bamboo fiber / modal blend: Offers a perfect combination of softness, skin-friendly comfort, and excellent moisture-wicking and breathability, ensuring a pleasant wearing experience. It’s ideal for low-intensity activities like walking or jogging—but keep in mind that its durability is slightly lower, making it better suited for everyday light exercise rather than more rigorous sports.
